So we should have been studying....

Unlike Julie I am not done with finals.  I have one more week until finals so i should be studying.  My roommates and i decided we were tired of studying so we I taught them how to make flowers.

                                                  Stephanie's flower headband

 Alyssa's flowers on bobby pins
 Ashlee's flower in progress
Imagine Ashlee's flowers with a feather behind.

Flower making is always better than studying!

Hit the books...because they don't hit back!

"Hit the books...because they don't hit back!"
       -Easy A

It is now that lovely time in the semester when every seat in the library is taken, people across campus have their noses in their books and some can even be seen pulling out their hair. Yes, my friends, finals week is here, and I will definitely be hitting the books and praying they don't hit back!

Our fun sewing adventures will be back soon, but for now I will be trying to cram every last bit of Physiology information into my poor little brain!

Wish us luck on finals!!

What do you get . . .

What do you get . . . when you take a women's small tank top from Old Navy (Ok fine, I actually got it from DI. You know me just can't pass up a super deal like a $3 tank top.)

. . . and this little bit of cute knit?

Hmm . . . I wonder?

(Oh, I can't wait to show off this little project!!)

My aunt asked me to make aprons for her daughter's fourth birthday party.  She showed me a picture of what she wanted them to look like.  I then made up a pattern, got fabric, and made adorable aprons. I ended up making six aprons for little girls and a  matching one for my aunt.

Ruffles, Ruffles, Ruffles! Who doesn't love ruffles! I see ruffles everywhere I go and I always say "Oh, I could make that." It has gotten to the point where my sisters and mom roll their eyes everytime I say this. I'll admit that I usually am all talk and never do end up making anything I see...until I saw this lovely little dress and skirt! I knew that I had to make them. I loved them so much and couldn't afford the large price J. Crew was selling them for. So I bought the fabric and went on experimenting. I had no idea how it would turn out or if it would look anything like the lovely pieces at J. Crew but I was still excited to make up and try a new pattern. It worked out perfect that my sweet little niece Jane was turning one the same weekend. I was so happy that the skirt worked out and that little Jane got a perfect little ruffled skirt for her birthday. My sister still tells me about all of the compliments that she gets on the skirt and how many of her friends want one for their little girls too.
Here it is...

Oh I love this little skirt!!!

Later as i was roming around Walmart, I found turtle necks for just a coupld of dollars. I decided for $3 I could afford to experiment and maybe make a ruffled top to go with the skirt. It too worked out perfectly with a little added flower just to make it even cutter!

The complete outfit!
Love it and it looks perfect on little Janey too!

Of course the second I finished making this outfit I ran over to Stephanies and she immediatly wanted to make one. We rummaged through her stash and found this perfect little bit of knit!  So here is the skirt Stephanie made. ( I love those colors, perfect for running around on a warm the summer day!)

One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure

I got the DEAL of the century on this little bit of treasure! Thanks to the local DI I got (I'm estimating) over 15 yards of fabric. How much did I spend for all of this fabric you may be asking. Try $3!! Yep that's right, $3! Who knew DI sold fabric. I'm so excited about all of this fabric. I love having it in my stash and I can't wait to cut into some of these lovely pieces!

Here are a few of my favorites!

We love making flowers and you will probably see lots of flowers.  Today I(Stephanie) looked online and learned how to make these flowers. I have seen these flowers on headbands and always wanted to learn how to make them. Today I finally learned how. I made some out of cotton and tulle, and others out of knit.
